Currently, EPA’s program has about 450 members. Criteria for acceptance include:

• Environmental Management System (EMS) in place to reduce the facility’s environmental impact and increase operating efficiency.
  
• Sustained Compliance with all applicable environmental laws.
  
• Continuous Improvement through demonstration of past environmental achievements as well as a commitment to four quantitative goals to be achieved over a three-year period.
  
• Public Outreach through active involvement in the community.
  
• Completion of an Annual Performance Report for each year of membership describing all public and environmental accomplishment for the previous year.
